Effective September 24, 2026

The short version

Rise & Recite does not collect, store, or share your personal information. There are no accounts, no ads, and no analytics. Your alarms, verses, streaks, and progress live only on your phone.

What stays on your phone

Your alarm times, the verses and packs you choose, your streaks, sunbeams, grace days, and memorization progress are saved in the app’s storage on your device. We never receive a copy. Deleting the app deletes all of it.

Microphone and speech

To turn off the alarm, you read the verse out loud. The app uses your phone’s built-in speech recognition to turn what you say into words and check them against the verse.

Notifications and alarms

The app asks permission to show notifications, set exact alarms, and show the alarm full screen so it can wake you. Optional reminders (for example, when no alarm is set for tomorrow) are scheduled on your phone and can be turned off in the app’s Settings. Nothing about them is sent anywhere.

App updates

The app checks for new versions of its own content so fixes can arrive without a store download. That check tells the update service which version of the app is installed. It contains no personal information and nothing about how you use the app.

Sharing

If you tap a share button, your phone’s share sheet opens and you choose where the message goes. We do not see what you share or who you share it with.

Children

Rise & Recite is suitable for families. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children.

Scripture text

Verses come from the Berean Standard Bible, which is in the public domain, and are bundled inside the app so it works offline.

Changes to this policy

If a future version adds anything that collects information, such as an optional email newsletter, it will ask you first, and this policy will be updated before that version is released. The effective date above will change.
